Frequently Asked Questions About Parent Coaching

01

What is parenting coaching?

Parent coaching is a collaborative, action-focused process that helps you understand your child's behavior and respond to it more effectively. It is not about fixing you or your child — it is about giving you the tools, strategies, and confidence to create the home life you actually want. Think of it as having an experienced guide in your corner who helps you see clearly and move forward with purpose.

02

How is parenting coaching different from therapy?

Therapy explores your past and supports your mental health. Coaching looks at what is happening in your home right now and builds a concrete plan to move forward. We don't diagnose, dwell, or excavate. You leave every session with something practical in your hands — a strategy, a script, a new way of responding to the moment that keeps derailing your day. If therapy is also something you need, coaching works beautifully alongside it.

03

Is this only for “struggling” parents?

Not at all. Some of my clients are in crisis. Others simply want to be more intentional, more connected, and more confident in how they show up for their children. You don't have to be falling apart to want something better. The desire to grow is enough.

04

What happens in a session?

You bring a moment, a pattern, or a question. We look at it together with curiosity — no judgment, no blame. We explore what your child is communicating, identify what is getting in the way, and build a strategy that fits your real life. Every session ends with clear, actionable next steps so you always leave knowing exactly what to do.

Do you work with the child directly?

05

No. My work is entirely with you as the parent. You are your child's most powerful resource — when you shift, they shift. Rather than working around you to get to your child, I work with you so that you become the change your child needs. This approach creates lasting results because the growth happens inside your relationship.

06

How long does it take to see results?

Most parents notice a shift within the first two to three sessions — not because everything is suddenly perfect, but because they are seeing their child differently and responding in new ways. Deeper, lasting change builds over time with consistency and practice. The parents who commit fully to the process are always the ones who are amazed by how far they have come.

07

Are sessions virtual or in person?

Sessions are currently offered virtually, which means you can show up from your kitchen, your car, or wherever works best for your life. Virtual coaching is just as effective as in person — and a lot easier to fit into a busy family schedule.

09

Do you offer packages or single sessions?

I only offer packages and group sessions. Real change does not happen in a single conversation. It happens in the space between sessions — when you try something new, notice what shifts, and come back to build on it. That is why I work exclusively in packages. Every package is designed to give us enough time together to move from understanding to action to lasting change.

08

How long is each session?

Individual and couples sessions are one hour. Group sessions are one hour per week. The Parent Transformational Package runs for eight consecutive weeks with one focused hour per week — designed for parents who want deep results in a concentrated timeframe.

10

What does it cost?

Pricing varies by service. Please visit the Services page or reach out directly for current rates. I believe every parent who is ready and committed deserves access to this work — if cost is a barrier, let's have an honest conversation about what is possible.

11

How do I know if this is right for me?

If you find yourself repeating the same arguments, losing your patience in the same moments, or simply feeling like your family is capable of more connection than you are currently experiencing — this is for you. If you are curious, open, and willing to look honestly at what is happening in your home, we will do great work together. Still not sure? Book a free intro call with me to answer your questions about parent coaching. One conversation will tell you everything you need to know.

What’s the first step?

Simply reach out. There is no sales pitch and no pressure — just an honest conversation about where you are and whether working together makes sense. If I am not the right fit I will tell you, and I will do my best to point you toward someone who is.
