I Didn't Set Out to Be a Coach.
I Set Out to Understand Children.

And after 25 years, what I understand most is this: when a child feels seen, everything changes. When a parent feels equipped, everything changes faster.

My name is Kim Love. For over two decades I have worked inside the daily, beautiful, sometimes overwhelming reality of children and families. Not from behind a desk, not from the pages of a textbook, but in the rooms where it actually happens. I have rocked infants through their first separations. I have sat with toddlers in the middle of a meltdown and figured out what they were really trying to say. I have watched three-year-olds become five-year-olds become confident, curious kids — and I have watched their parents grow right alongside them.

For 15 years, I have been the director of Bright Life Playschool, an infant and preschool center. This means I have not just studied child development. I have lived it, hundreds of times, with hundreds of families. That depth of experience is what I bring into every coaching session.

My philosophy is simple: children are always communicating through behavior, and our job as parents is to listen, respond with empathy, and take loving action. I guide families to create clear boundaries, actionable strategies, and stronger connections.

What I Believe

I believe children are not giving you a hard time. They are having a hard time — and asking you to help them through it. I believe behavior is always communication. Always. Even the behavior that makes you want to walk out the front door and keep going. Especially that behavior.

I believe parents are not the problem. They are the most powerful resource their child has — and most of them are simply working without the right map.

I believe that the goal of parenting is not to produce a perfectly behaved child. It is to build a relationship strong enough to weather every season — the easy ones and the ones that bring you to your knees.

I believe that the goal of parenting is not to produce a perfectly behaved child. It is to build a relationship strong enough to weather every season — the easy ones and the ones that bring you to your knees.

And I believe, with complete conviction, that you are more capable than you currently think you are. I have seen it too many times to doubt it.

See the whole picture first. Your family does not exist in a vacuum. Your child's behavior is shaped by everything around the - your home, your community, your history, the daily rhythms of your life together. We look at all of it, because the solution always lives inside the full picture, not just the moment that sent you looking for help.

My Approach as a Parent Coach

I am a PCI Certified Parent Coach and Early Childhood Specialist. But more than any certification, what shapes the way I work is this: I have spent 25 years watching what actually helps families — and what doesn't.

The PCI Coaching Model™ is the foundation of everything I do. It starts from a simple but powerful truth: you and your child are not a broken system that needs fixing. You are a living, growing, dynamic relationship — and that relationship is where all the real change happens.

Four Foundations of My Approach:

Understand your child's brain. Every child grows through predictable stages of development - and every child is also completely unique within those stages. We look at where your child actually is, what their brain and nervous system need right now, and how to meet them there. This is not guesswork. It is brain science made practical.

2

Then we make a plan. A real one. Specific to your child, your home, your schedule, and your particular 7 am. You leave every session knowing exactly what to do next. I will be right there with you.

Regulate yourself first. You cannot calm a storm by joining it. Before you can help your child find their way back to steady ground, you have to find yours. Like the oxygen mask on the plane - you first, always. Not because your feelings matter more, but because your regulated nervous system is the most powerful tool in the room. We work on this together, and it changes everything.

3

Build on what is already working. This is not about cataloging everything that is going wrong. We begin by finding your strengths - as a parent, as a person - and we build from there. Because the most lasting change does not come from fixing what is broken. It comes from growing what is already good.

Why I Still Do This

I still direct my center. I still show up for my center every day — for the kids, the families, and the teachers — because it keeps me honest. I am not coaching from theory. I am coaching from a practice that is still alive and current, where I watch children and parents navigate real moments. That is unusual. And it matters.

When you work with me, you are not getting someone who learned about children from a course. You are getting someone who has spent 25+ years in the room with them — and who believes, without reservation, that your family is capable of more connection, more calm, and more joy than you are experiencing right now. I am here to help you find your way there.
